Where the journey began ...

January 2025
It was one of those winter mornings - still and quiet - as I felt a nudge to step outside. I gathered my supplies and took a little hike to a hillside meadow. A beautiful place I began visiting just a few weeks after I was born.
Standing there, I felt a sense of comfort in the familiarity of the landscape. Gazing across the distant hills, I sensed something more unfamiliar arise within me. A desire to not just to move beyond the known, but to relax into this 'newness'.
This new phase of my life brought with it quite a bit of fear of the unknown.
I wanted this painting to hold a sense of expansiveness and calm - a quiet invitation to soften into change and the relaxation of fully, releasing myself to the breath - and exhaling.
